Porridge provides your body with all the important nutrients, is easily digestible and good for your immune system. The complex carbohydrates in oat bran allow your blood sugar to rise slowly, which means you stay full longer and your cravings don't stand a chance. Oats also ensure healthy digestion thanks to the fibre they contain. The broccoli it contains also contains a high dose of important vitamins and minerals. By the way, our porridge is prepared in only 3 minutes (without cooking) and tastes great at lunch or dinner as a full meal or side dish!

Superfood Oat bran
In contrast to oat flakes, oat bran "only" consists of the outer layers and the germ of the oat grain, which, however, contain a condensed ratio of fibre and protein. Oat bran therefore contains up to 50% more fibre than conventional oat flakes. Oat bran also tastes slightly different from oatmeal and brings a slightly nutty note to your porridge.

Healthy Broccoli
The cabbage plant is often referred to as regional superfood because it contains a high number of vital substances. These include the important vitamins B, C, E and K as well as the minerals potassium, iron, magnesium, zinc and calcium. Thus, broccoli is ideal to cover your micronutrient requirements and prevent various deficiencies. Among other things, the vegetables have a detoxifying and dehydrating effect due to their high vitamin C content.

Powernuts Pine Nuts
Pine nuts are known for their high fat content. However, they consist of very healthy unsaturated fatty acids that will keep you full for a long time. The nuts are also rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which can help lower your cholesterol levels. Pine nuts are also highly recommended for sportsmen and women, as they are rich in magnesium.

Preparation
Put 65g porridge (1 portion) in a bowl and pour over (depending on the consistency desired) 150ml boiling water. Stir, leave to soak for 3 minutes and enjoy warm.

Savoury porridge - what is that?
We admit it: Savoury porridge is by far not as well known and widespread as its sweet big brother. The savoury porridge may not be suitable for breakfast for everyone. So it's all the better that there are at least a dozen other situations in which broccoli porridge with pine nuts is just right. For example, as a quick and yet healthy dinner. Or as a healthy snack between meals. Or as a side dish. Or as a filling of delicious vegan or vegetarian stuffed peppers. Just give it a try!
What other savoury porridge varieties are available from Verival?

What is oat bran and what advantages does it have?
Unlike oat flakes, oat bran does not consist of the whole oat grain, but only of the outer layers and the germ of the grain. This means that oat bran contains higher amounts of the soluble fibre beta-glucan, which keeps you full for a long time.
What is beta-glucan and why is it good for me?
Beta-glucan is a fibre with a special effect. A daily dose of 3g of beta-glucan has been shown to reduce blood cholesterol levels and has many health benefits. One of the main sources of beta-glucan is oats. One portion of porridge (50g) provides 1.67g of beta-glucan and therefore provides you with half your daily requirement of beta-glucan.
Why is porridge considered a healthy breakfast?
Porridge is characterized above all by its high value of fiber, which helps your digestion and keeps your blood sugar level constant. Porridge also contains important minerals, vitamins and proteins. With the intake of 50 g of porridge at breakfast alone, you cover 60% of your daily magnesium requirement and 30% of your vitamin B1 requirement.
