Quick & Easy: Breakfast to-go and snacks for work

September is just around the corner and for many it’s time to go back to school, to university or just back to their regular working day. In order to really start off September, we’d like to introduce our favorite breakfasts to-go varieties and snacks for work to you.

Breakfast to-go to start off

In recent years, taking along or buying the most important meal of the day has become a real trend. This “to-go” trend can be divided into 2 types:

On the one hand, you can buy your breakfast at the supermarket or at the bakery and then eat it on the way or at work. This is simple and convenient, but clearly has a huge disadvantage: the large amount of waste that is produced by disposable coffee cups and packaging of the food.

Or you can simply prepare your favourite breakfast yourself at home and pack it up to enjoy it on the way or at school, at university or at the office. Preparing homemade breakfast to-go might seem to be very time-consuming and complex at first sight – but it isn’t at all! It is even a real problem solver:

  • Simple. If you’re not hungry in the morning, you can enjoy your breakfast whenever and wherever you want.
  • Time-saving. Those of you who like to sleep in and then might have little time to have breakfast at home, can prepare their breakfast the evening before and just eat it on the way. Two overnight oats recipes to prepare the night before can be found here.
  • Practical. You can use an old jam jar, a preserving jar or a mason jar for your prepared breakfast. Not only does it make your breakfast look nice, but it also protects it from annoying leakage. You can find more inspirations for your breakfast to-go containers here.
  • Environmentally friendly. The reusable containers for your breakfast to-go make it easy to save a lot of packaging waste produced through buying your breakfast at the bakery or supermarket and you can also do something good for the environment at the same time.

If you don’t feel like eating the same thing every day, we have two new tasty recipe inspirations for you, which definitely will turn your September into a Septemmmhber!

Snacks work wonders against fatigue and inertness during the day! In order to stay efficient throughout the day, our brain has to be constantly supplied with energy.

Work snacks for fresh energy

At school, university or work it is necessary to stay concentrated and efficient for a long time. When it comes to finding the right snacks, nuts should definitely be the first choice. Nuts have a positive effect on our brain and its performance. Vitamins and minerals such as lecithin and various B vitamins such as vitamin B1, which are found in nuts, are responsible for increasing the performance of our brain.

A handful of nuts, approximately 20 to 30 grams, is an optimal amount in order to support your brain during work. Our organic nut mix “Early Bird” consists of almonds, cashews, hazelnuts and walnuts and provides your brain with long-term energy. If you’d rather have it a little bit more fruity, we recommend our organic nut-fruit mix “Work out“. Dried fruits allow us to stay concentrated longer, because the complex carbohydrates in dried fruits are only slowly broken down by our body and can therefore be released slowly, but continuously into the blood.

Muesli bars are also a delicious way to strengthen you and your brain during work. They are easy and quick to prepare and can be prepared in advance for the whole week on weekends. Here you can find a recipe for homemade muesli bars for the little hunger during work.
