Porridge isn’t getting more and more popular without a reason, it’s because a warm breakfast can do more for you than you think:

Gives your digestion a break:

A warm breakfast has the perfect temperature for your body. Therefore, it needs less energy to digest and leaves you with a warm and comfortable feeling.

Increased bioavailability:

Warm meals are characterised by a higher bioavailability of their ingredients. That means, that the nutrients contained can be processed better and faster.

Satisfies hunger:

A warm breakfast provides a long-lasting feeling of satiety. Because porridge is high in fibre, it keeps the blood sugar level steady. This helps avoid food cravings and makes you feel more energized throughout the day.

Strengthens the immune system:

Going for a warm breakfast in the morning strengthens the immune system and warms the body from the inside (especially important during the autumn and winter months).

Quick to prepare:

Preparing a warm breakfast doesn’t mean it has to be complicated nor time-consuming! Our Verival porridges are ready within minutes, with several preparation options:

1. With a kettle:

Simply pour hot water from the kettle over the porridge mix, optionally you can add a dash of milk or plant drink and stir. After three minutes of soaking your porridge is ready to enjoy.

2. In the microwave:

Pour some cold milk, plant drink or water over the porridge, stir and heat in the microwave for 1-2 minutes. Stir again and it’s done!

3. In a pot:

If you don’t want to give up the conventional way of cooking porridge, you can prepare it in a pot. Simply add cold milk, cold plant drink or water and heat it up while stirring until the desired consistency is reached. Alternatively heat water, plant drink or milk in a pot, pour it over the porridge mix, stir and enjoy after three minutes of soaking.

Whether you choose option 1, 2 or 3, with a warm bowl of porridge you definitely do your body a favour.
